Colt Creek State Park covers 5,067 acres and is in the heart of Central Florida’s Green Swamp Wilderness Area, which is just north of the Withlacoochee River in Lakeland.
Visitors can hike or horseback ride on more than 12 miles of marked trails through pine Flatwoods, cypress domes, and hardwood hammocks. Trails may be sandy or wet, so wear hiking shoes. Most importantly, bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and insect repellent.
